Every month Shopper Marketing Magazine does a roundup of social, local and mobile marketing activity. SenionLab was recently featured under the So-Lo-Mo Central section of the magazine’s August issue.

Linkoping, Sweden-based SenionLab has worked with a hospital in San Luis Obispo, California, to help map the location for visitors. A company spokesperson says the company is rolling out a full-scale test this fall with a handful of U.S. retailers. SenionLab has created an IPS (indoor positioning system) that essentially acts as an in-store, in-aisle navigational platform that can be customized to a retailer’s mobile app. According to the company, its IPS is designed for the nuances of a retailer’s interior and can be accurate enough to direct a shopper to a product package on a certain shelf down a specific aisle, or it can direct someone to a restroom or an exact parking space.
