Senion performance “most likely of the BLE solutions to be replicable in real-world deployments,” according to Grizzly Analytics

July 14th, 2016

It’s always a good day when the indoor positioning system you’ve developed is called “most likely of the BLE solutions to be replicable in real-world deployments.”

Here at Senion, we’re giving ourselves a well-deserved pat on the back as we celebrate the results of the recent Grizzly Analytics “Indoor Positioning System Testbed,” conducted at the Geo IoT World event in Brussels in May. The testbed looked at Senion’s StepInside, and nine other solutions from seven companies.

“The most likely of the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) solutions to be replicable in real-world deployments.”

The folks who conducted the testbed said Senion’s performance makes it, “the most likely of the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) solutions to be replicable in real-world deployments.” This is primarily due to the low number of beacons–our installation required by far the least number of beacons compared to similar technologies. Given our spate of new customers, particularly in the retail space, we fully agree with this statement.

We at Senion believe that a combination of short and easy set-up combined with good and robust positioning performance makes our solution particularly viable for large-scale commercial deployments. And the Grizzly testbed report validates our approach.

The first industrial evaluation of indoor location solutions

Grizzly Analytics says the testing conducted at the show was unique. “The Indoor Location Testbed was the first industrial evaluation of indoor location solutions that measured a wide range of real-world metrics and produced a multi-dimensional analysis that reflects the complexity of the area,” is how they describe the test on their website. Grizzly Analytics notes that the solutions examined span the spectrum of indoor location solutions. While most, like StepInside, run on smartphones and use beacons, others in the test rely on dedicated hardware.

About Grizzly Analytics
